My Latest Creation

I overheard a lady in a yardage shop say, "If I couldn't create, I'd die." That says it for me.

Here is a picture of the yard sale nightstand that I refinished.

Here is a picture of the nightstand I made. I'm standing proud.

Summer Hand Work

This summer I will keep busy by doing a bunch of cross stitch patterns about the First Christmas.

I found several patterns on the internet and bought a few easy ones and one very difficult one.

See if you can tell which one I never want to try again.

The Psych Club

This is our new Psych Club Symbol. The original design was originated by Danielle Hutchison. Then my son, the graphic designer, designed it better for us. It is totally cool or what?
In our never-ending quest for funds, the Psych Club sponsored a People Auction. No pictures were taken because it was not a glorious triumph. Students, especially the jocks, put themselves up for auction in hopes of a romantic evening, but were mightily disappointed when they found themselves doing yard work instead. But the unkindest cut of all was when the jocks went for $30 each and the Psych Club's golden boy went for $7. I don't want to talk about it any more.

Next, we did the annual Kiss a Baby Farm Animal election. It was pretty wild and crazy. It was verrrry difficult finding an animal this year, even though we started a month early. We almost had to settle for an adolescent chicken. (Imagine my disappointment.) Then I found Mr Dean Johnson, an animal breeder in Dustin Acres. He offered me a baby emu, some African spotted lambs, and some other critters. I loved the lambs so I went with the white, curly-haired one.

The day of the "Kissing Contest," the three front runner kissing candidates spent a great deal of time and money trying to get someone else to kiss the animal, but Brock McMurray won out, or lost--had to pucker up. (A picture follows.)

The girl in the photo is the Student Body President. As an aside, she was auctioned off at $45. Irony is so ironic.

One of the nice things about the day is that Mr. Johnson brought us a 2-day-old African spotted lamb for good measure. Ozella, the girl on the right, and I, and just about every other female in attendance, got to kiss both lambs and we didn't have to pay a dime. It was another fun day for the Psych Club.
